What's your favorite sport to watch?
"I love watching basketball and soccer.. Especially around playoff time in either sport. Later in the season these guys start to get really serious about winning and start playing as a team and it's amazing to watch. I started by getting into watching Michael Jordan play, watching the greats is like watching any great artist or musician. Their abilities are expressed through creativity and improvised teamwork. I find that the musicians who play best with other musicians were or are also athletes. There are a lot of parallels between being a good teammate and a good member of a team effort on the bandstand."

What's your favorite language?
"I'd have to say Spanish. I've not really thought about this very much but we are on our way to being a largely Spanish speaking world. That's OK with me, it's a very versatile language and culture. Great food, great music, great people... sign me up for Spanish."

What's your favorite country?
"I haven't been somewhere I haven't liked. I'm amazed at how cultures over time have been influenced by manmade borders. Humans are funny in their desire to identify themselves."

What's your favorite drink?
"I'm really into smoothies. I could go on and on about this but trust me it's something worth learning about."

What do you like most about Holland?
"The countryside."

Do you have a nickname? If so what is it?
"Perkins, Perks, Perk-Up, Captian Perk, Perk 182, Perkapotomis, Perk-a-long-gang, perky, I'm gonna have a perky good time....you get the idea."

If you weren't a musician what would you be?
"Musically frustrated, married with kids."

What do you love about being on the road? And what do you hate?
"I love everything about it. I think touring musicians are a certain breed of animal that NEED to be on the road. The people we tour with become our second family. We all start to need a break but that break doesn't necessarily always mean home it mostly just means we need a break. At this time in my life I love the road. Of course it's hard to maintain relationships with people back home and that can be very spiritually challenging. It's also kinda hard to find healthy food as we travel, that is something that's important to me but I make due."

Have you ever been Punk'd by one of the guys?
"Not that I can remember. Our tour manager has gotten me a few times but I can't seem to remember the specifics. I've gotten a few guys in the band pretty good though."

When you have time off between performing what do you like to do?
"Figure out what to do about having less time off between performing! Mostly life between tours is about recovering from the last tour, preparing for the next one, and practicing/networking to ensure there will be a next one. Non musically I like to do a lot of yoga, exercise, spend time with friends, and just enjoy being in New York City."

What's your favorite curse/swear word?
"Holy Crap! I just love how it instantly makes whoever says it sound like an old man."

Do you have a celebrity crush? If so who?
"Lois, the mom from the Family Guy. That's right I said it... one day we will be together."

What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
"Play the song 'Fever' several hundred times in a row and think that I'll be able to sleep at night."

Do you have a certain message to the Dutch and ofcourse other fans?
"Thanks for all of your continued support and I hope to see you soon! Much love, Rob Perkins"
