What's your favorite sport to watch?
"Sports?? I'm a nerdy musician, I can't play sports, can't even WATCH sports. Musicians are always really bad athletes, and jealous of those who aren't! Just kidding, mostly. I used to really enjoy baseball when I was a kid, I don't follow any sports very regularly these days."

What's your favorite language?
"I like listening to people speak Italian. I don't understand a lick of it, but Italians talking about ANYTHING sound cool. They could be having a conversation about garbage, and it would sound like pure romance!"

What's your favorite country?
"Hard to pick, I've been so many cool places. Most countries have something really exciting to see. I'm kind of famously wishy-washy about my favorite country. My friends make fun of me for saying I'm going to move to every country we visit."

What's your favorite drink?
"I've been getting into smoothies lately. There's this place in LA that our drummer, Rob, introduced me to that makes these smoothies with whatever kind of fresh squeezed juice you want, mixed with frozen bananas and sunflower seeds. Sounds gross, but it's not. It will power you up all day."

What do you like most about Holland?
"I like the countryside. The first time I came to Holland was about 6 years ago on a tour with pianist Benny Green. We played in a little town called Ternhuezen(I don't know how to spell it) The town and surrounding area was just so peaceful and beautiful. The air felt so fresh! Holland in general feels very relaxed to me."

Do you have a nickname? If so what is it?
"I have many nicknames, different friends have different names for me. Most of them wouldn't make any sense without a lot of explaination!"

If you weren't a musician what would you be?
"I might be a writer. A writer who wished he could play guitar!"

What do you love about being on the road? And what do you hate?
"I love seeing new places, and the privilage of playing guitar for a living. I hate the actual travel(planes, buses etc) and I REALLY hate being away from home for so long. It can be really isolating."

Have you ever been Punk'd by one of the guys?
"YES! But it's too embarrassing to tell you all about. Sorry."

When you have time off between performing what do you like to do?
"When I have a break from Michaels band, I perform with my own band or other groups around New York I play with. Guitar is my job, and my hobby! I know, I know - get a life!"

What's your favorite curse/swear word?
"Crickey! (I'm in Australia right now!)"

Do you have a celebrity crush? If so who?
"I do, but I can't tell you who. Then she'll know, and it will ruin my chances!"

What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
"I chose guitar as a profession. Don't try this at home!"

Do you have a certain message to the Dutch and ofcourse other fans?
"Thank you so much for the support! Hope to see you soon!! If you have a chance, I encourage you all to check out as much jazz as possible. It's a beautiful, often misunderstood art form and the Dutch have always been ahead of most countries in their appreciation of it. I'm going to put up a list of recomended recordings on my website soon, if you need a place to start. Enjoy!"
